Oil leakage in diesel engines can manifest in various ways, so our approach to handling it should be adapted to the specific situation. The fuel injector nozzle is a precision component. If the diesel engine uses unclean diesel fuel or has been in service for a long time, fuel return (backflow) can occur due to nozzle wear.
However, since replacing the injector nozzle is expensive and uneconomical, the returned fuel can be redirected back to the fuel tank or into the diesel filter through a return pipe to prevent loss. If the return pipe is damaged, a piece of plastic tubing can be used to channel the fuel into a separate container, where it can be filtered and then poured back into the tank.
Secondly, regarding oil leakage in the fuel delivery system, appropriate measures can be taken depending on the situation: If the washer of the hollow bolt on the fuel pipe is uneven, it can be removed, ground flat, and reinstalled. If this does not solve the problem, replace it with a new washer, or cut a washer from thicker soft plastic material and install it.
Oil leakage at the connection between the plastic fuel pipe and the metal joint is mostly caused by the hardening or cracking of the plastic pipe. You can cut off the hardened or cracked section, then soften the pipe with hot water. While it's still hot, fit it onto the metal joint and secure it tightly with metal wire. If a metal fuel pipe is cracked and leaking, the crack can be repaired with copper brazing. Additionally, to prevent fuel pipes from cracking, the bends should be appropriate during installation. Do not force them into place, and ensure the pipe body does not come into contact with the engine body to avoid abrasion.
When installing the valve chamber cover, excessive tightening force can easily cause deformation and oil leakage. In this case, the leaking valve chamber cover can be removed, and a wooden stick can be used to carefully tap and reshape it, restoring the contact surface to a flat state. Then, simply place a gasket and reinstall it. Different parts of a diesel engine require different methods to handle oil leaks, so be careful not to damage the machine during the process.
